Trump shares blueprint to chop and change rules

President Donald Trump has detailed his sweeping deregulatory program that will upend core environmental regulations in pursuit of boosting the fossil fuel energy and domestic industry.

The spring Unified Agenda was posted by the Office of Management and Budget, offering a comprehensive timeline of rules being crafted across the Trump administration.

The regulatory plan — the first of Trump’s second term — shows a sharp contrast from the aggressive rulemaking agenda of former President Joe Biden. Regulations on everything from tailpipe exhaust to home dishwashers are now under review, with many being reworked and pulled back.

Wayne Crews, a fellow in regulatory studies at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, a free market think tank, told POLITICO’s E&E News that unlike past agendas, the blueprint doesn’t just catalog new rules but documents “the rise of the ‘Unrule.’”
