President Donald Trump appointed a longtime engineering firm executive to head EPA’s Southeast region.
Kevin McOmber, senior vice president at Clark Patterson Lee, the construction planning firm he has worked at for more than 30 years, took helm as administrator of EPA Region 4 this week, the agency announced in a news release.
McOmber, who lives in Suwanee, Georgia, will oversee Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and six tribes as regional administrator. He is a longtime member of the lobbying group American Council of Engineering Companies.
“With nearly four decades of experience in environmental planning, water resources, stormwater management and sustainable urban development, Kevin is the right person to lead the Southeast region, and I am ready to get to work with him,” EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin said in the news release.
