The Trump administration is exploring the use of artificial intelligence to advance its goal of axing a broad swath of federal regulations.

After promising on the campaign trail to dramatically scale back government rules, President Donald Trump tasked agency leaders and his so-called DOGE operation with “the deconstruction of the overbearing and burdensome administrative state,” and he ordered the swift repeal of “unlawful regulations.”

To expedite that process, the administration is exploring “all options,” a White House spokesperson said this week.

That includes an AI tool developed by DOGE to seek out rules that can be cut, The Washington Post reported, citing a DOGE “deregulation” presentation dated July 1 that says “50% of all federal regulations can be eliminated.”
