Former President Donald Trump is promising to crack down on offshore wind developments if he’s reelected.
Trump pledged Saturday to sign an executive order on offshore wind on his first day in office. It came in a rally in Wildwood, on New Jersey’s coast, near where numerous offshore turbine farms are planned.
He did not specify what his executive order would do, and Trump’s campaign did not respond to a request for further details.
“You won’t have to worry about Gov. [Phil] Murphy’s 157 windmills,” Trump told the crowd, making various unsubstantiated claims about the turbines.
