President Donald Trump ordered federal agencies Monday to begin sharing grant application details for critical mineral and energy infrastructure projects with the National Energy Dominance Council.

The president also ordered the creation of a new application that critical minerals and energy infrastructure projects can use to apply to a host of government funds simultaneously.

The information-sharing mandate gives the energy council — created by Trump and led by Interior Secretary Doug Burgum — a spotlight on new projects that it may favor. It could also increase scrutiny of some renewable energy infrastructure projects seeking federal aid.
