President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team has kicked off talks with EPA, an agency his incoming administration is expected to shake up.
Soon after his election victory, Trump named several of his Cabinet officials but other preparations for his incoming administration have gotten off to a late start. His team only recently signed agreements with the White House and the Justice Department to jump-start the process and his transition members have not visited agencies he soon will be in charge of.
That appears to be changing, as the president-elect’s transition team has begun to reach out across the federal government.
“EPA has started to engage with the president-elect’s agency review team following the standard transition process,” EPA spokesperson Andrea Drinkard told POLITICO’s E&E News, adding the agency is following guidance from the Office of Management and Budget and the White House memorandum of understanding with the president-elect’s team.
