Former senior Interior Department official Kate Kelly is joining the Trust for Public Land.
Kelly, who served as deputy chief of staff for policy under former Secretary Deb Haaland throughout the Biden administration, will be the group’s new vice president of government relations and policy.
The nonprofit, which is headquartered in San Francisco and has nearly three dozen offices nationwide, focuses on expanding both national and local parks, as well as projects to improve access to the outdoors.
Before joining the Biden administration, Kelly led the public lands campaign at the Center for American Progress.
