If you haven’t been closely tracking next week’s Pennsylvania Supreme Court retention races, you’re not alone.

The judicial elections in the Keystone State aren’t dominating the political discourse or nabbing news headlines like the gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey.

But the stakes are huge, say environmentalists who are putting cash and resources into the Pennsylvania Supreme Court races.

Keeping the court’s current justices on the bench would notch a win for environmentalists and for the left in one of the country’s first major elections since President Donald Trump’s inauguration in January.
