Senate Agriculture Committee staff members were scheduled to brief agriculture lobbyists and trade groups about the farm bill’s contents Thursday but canceled the event without providing an explanation for the delay, according to multiple people familiar with the matter who spoke to POLITICO on condition of anonymity to describe the abrupt change.
Boozman unveiled his draft text last month. He was set to introduce the product that the committee is looking to mark up next Thursday, which would include language to allow year-round E15 sales and any potential compromise on Democrats’ demands to postpone GOP-led cuts to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program spending.
