Incoming House Republican lawmakers from Colorado, Alaska, Utah and North Carolina are getting spots on the Natural Resources Committee.

The GOP on Monday appointed nine new members to the panel for the session of Congress that starts next month, to replace lawmakers leaving the House or the committee. The panel has jurisdiction over federally owned land, conservation, wildlife and Native American relations.

Among the new Republican members are five incoming freshmen: Reps.-elect Jeff Crank of Colorado, Jeff Hurd of Colorado, Nick Begich of Alaska, Mike Kennedy of Utah and Addison McDowell of North Carolina.
