Leslie Beyer, who briefly served as the Trump administration’s top energy official at the Interior Department, will join Cornerstone Government Affairs, a prominent lobbying and consulting firm on energy and environmental policy.

Beyer left Interior abruptly in December, just months after the Senate confirmed her as assistant secretary for land and minerals management. The influential role oversees mining and drilling on public lands and in U.S. waters.

Cornerstone, which has represented energy clients like the American Clean Power Association, Transocean and Exxon Mobil, described Beyer on Thursday as “one of the most influential Republican voices on energy policy.”

“It’s no secret that the energy sector is becoming an increasingly complex and competitive space with a lot of opportunity for the U.S., and Leslie’s vast expertise at the highest levels of energy governance and policy will be a great benefit to a full spectrum of Cornerstone’s clients,” Cornerstone CEO Geoff Gonella said in a statement Thursday.
