The Senate is poised to confirm dozens of nominees this week before leaving for the summer recess, including President Donald Trump’s picks for roles at the Interior and Energy departments.
The chamber adopted a resolution along party lines last week to confirm the nominees en bloc. More votes are necessary before the confirmation process is complete under rules Senate Republicans adopted last year.
Kevin Lilly is in line to become assistant Interior secretary for fish and wildlife and William Hague to become assistant Interior secretary for insular, international and ocean affairs. At the Department of Energy, Kaveh Farzad would become assistant secretary for international affairs.
Also on the list is Cameron Hamilton, nominee to lead the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and Glen Smith to become undersecretary of Agriculture for rural development.
