An Interior Department official who left the Trump administration earlier this month has joined a Washington law firm to focus on federal affairs and legal matters tied to energy and natural resources.
Jake Tyner, a political appointee at Interior who served as deputy assistant secretary for land and minerals management since September 2025, has joined Holland & Hart as an attorney and senior director of federal affairs.
Tyner also served as Interior’s deputy solicitor for energy and mineral resources.
While at Interior, Tyner focused on policy and legal matters tied to onshore and offshore energy production within a host of agencies, including the Bureau of Land Management, Marine Minerals Administration and the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement, he said in an email.
