Colorado officials have found a wolf pup believed to be separated from its pack after a recently concluded relocation operation.

The Copper Creek wolf pack, introduced back into the state after a 2020 ballot measure, was relocated last month after farmers complained they were endangering their livestock. Colorado Parks and Wildlife apprehended four pups, an adult female and an adult male, all associated with the pack.

But game cameras placed by Colorado Parks and Wildlife on Friday revealed the presence of another uncollared gray wolf, believed to be a fifth Copper Creek wolf pup.

Capture operations began soon after in efforts to reunite it with its probable litter for winter release, according to the department.
