The Supreme Court has agreed to weigh in on two new environment and energy cases.
In a long list of orders issued Monday, the justices added to their calendar a fight over what pipeline developers owe landowners for taking their property and a battle between two Western states over their fair share of a river that flows between their borders.
The cases are expected to be argued next fall and decided by early summer 2027.
In the Western water battle, Nebraska has accused Colorado of drawing too much water from the South Platte River and hindering efforts to build a canal that would send more of the waterways flows across state lines.
