An environmental group aligned with Democrats has launched an advertising campaign targeting vulnerable House Republicans over high gasoline prices.
Billboard ads from the group Climate Power — which also mention high utility and grocery bills — come as the average gasoline price soars above $4 per gallon largely because of the ongoing Middle East conflict.
They’re being displayed at 150 sites across the districts of five vulnerable House Republicans: Reps. Chuck Edwards of North Carolina, Derrick Van Orden of Wisconsin, Juan Ciscomani of Arizona, and Bill Huizenga and Tom Barrett of Michigan.
“Republicans are too busy touring castles to speak to their constituents, but here’s what those of us still in the country know to be true: The GOP affordability crisis is forcing families to make tough choices between keeping the lights on, filling their tank or feeding their children,” said Jesse Lee, senior adviser for Climate Power.
