The Association of Air Pollution Control Agencies, a right-leaning group of state and local air quality regulators, has promoted from within to name Morgan Dickie as its new executive director.
Dickie joined the association, AAPCA, in 2021 as its policy and membership specialist and had served as interim executive director since this past May.
She had previously worked as an environmental health specialist for the Nashville (Tenn.) Metro Public Health Department, managing quality assurance for the ambient air monitoring program, the association said in a Friday news release announcing her new position. Dickie has more than a decade of experience in working on environmental issues both in government and for non-profit organizations, according to the release.
“Morgan is an asset to AAPCA, and a pleasure to work with,” Laura Crowder, director of the West Virginia Division of Air Quality and the association’s current president, said in a statement. “We look forward to working with Morgan in her new role, building on the successes of state and local air agencies to reduce air pollution and protect public health, and continuing the consensus-driven, technical focus of the association.”
