The Biden administration has pledged to build an “atlas” to detail the conserved land and waters across the United States.

More than three years after the Biden administration kicked off its aggressive “America the Beautiful” conservation pledge, the White House launched a database to showcase progress toward the goal, but without a specific tally on the acreage or waters it is designed to protect.

The White House Council on Environmental Quality on Friday unveiled a website, Conservation.gov, designed to serve as a “public information hub” on conservation programs across the country.

“From protecting Bristol Bay in Alaska and safeguarding the Grand Canyon to making historic investments in local parks and tree cover, President Biden is delivering on the most ambitious land and water conservation agenda in U.S. history,” CEQ Chair Brenda Mallory said in a statement.

The site — jointly managed by CEQ, the Interior and Agriculture departments, and NOAA — is also home to the new American Conservation and Stewardship Atlas, which the Biden administration has said would detail land and water conservation efforts.
