The Office of Personnel Management released new guidance Tuesday to help agencies bring on talent in the growing tech industry that has potential to disrupt large swathes of society, including how energy and environmental problems are assessed and resolved. The guidance comes in response to the wide-ranging executive order on AI that President Joe Biden signed last October, which called for a federal hiring surge in the field.
