President Joe Biden touted his administration’s work on climate change Tuesday as he urged world leaders to stick together to tackle that and other pressing global problems.

Biden addressed the U.N. General Assembly in New York for his fourth and final time as president as he prepares to step down in January. He used his farewell speech to highlight his domestic and international climate policies as he prodded nations to continue to push for solutions.

“People need more than the absence of war,” Biden said. “They need a chance to live in dignity. They need to be protected from the ravages of climate change, hunger and disease.”

Biden’s address to the United Nations is one of several speeches the president was set to make in New York on Tuesday. He’s also slated to deliver a climate-centric speech Tuesday afternoon at the Bloomberg Global Business Forum, where he’s expected to draw a contrast between his administration’s work on climate and the likely rollbacks that would come if former President Donald Trump reclaims the White House.
