The Trump administration has orchestrated its first major senior staff shake-up at the Bureau of Land Management.
The moves — executed Tuesday and outlined by BLM acting Director Jon Raby in an email reviewed by POLITICO’s E&E News — reverse a signature Biden-era redo of the bureau’s top career post, moving the agency’s chief of staff to an Interior Department position and shifting a top BLM official to Alaska to fill the vacant state director’s position.
They also move the current director of the Eastern States office to a headquarters post that oversees BLM’s onshore energy development policies, according to the email.
“These experienced leaders bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to their new roles, helping us continue to meet our mission and serve our stakeholders effectively,” Raby wrote to members of the executive leadership team and other senior officials.
