The Bureau of Land Management plans by next month to complete additional analysis of a proposed transmission line project in Nevada after the agency agreed with conservation groups that more work is needed before construction can begin.

BLM updated its formal timeline for evaluating and approving the 235-mile-long Greenlink North power line in northern Nevada after concerns were raised about if the line placement could harm greater sage grouse habitat, as well as visual resources in the region.

BLM’s new permitting timeline on its online e-planning website commits the bureau to complete by February a supplement to the final environmental impact statement it already issued last year, with a goal of issuing a record of decision approving the project by May.
