HOUSTON — Canadian Energy and Natural Resources Minister Tim Hodgson struck a conciliatory tone when talking about his country’s relationship with the United States during an interview at the POLITICO Pub at CERAWeek on Monday.
He also signaled a willingness to push back an April 1 deadline for an agreement between the Canadian federal government and Alberta that could boost energy infrastructure.
Hodgson said he has met with U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum this week and said his office has a “very good relationship” with the two.
“The U.S. wants to achieve energy dominance. We support you in that view,” Hodgson said. “We will win this race.”
