The Senate passed a bipartisan bill Thursday extending tax filing deadlines for those affected by natural disasters.

H.R. 517, the “Filing Relief for Natural Disasters Act,” advanced via unanimous consent. It now heads to President Donald Trump’s desk for his signature.

The legislation, sponsored by Reps. David Kustoff (R-Tenn.) and Judy Chu (D-Calif.), passed the House unanimously in April. It would postpone federal filing deadlines for victims of a state-declared disaster. That state’s governor would also need to submit a request to the Internal Revenue Service.

Under current law, only victims of federally declared disasters are eligible for such extensions.
