Lawmakers in both chambers and parties are working with the White House on a critical minerals legislative package to reduce Chinese supply chain dominance, a top Democrat said Monday.

Rep. Ami Bera of California, the ranking member on the Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on East Asia and the Pacific, said the package will include bipartisan bills from several committees.

“We’re getting pretty close to pulling a bunch of things together into a larger package, working in collaboration with the administration,” Bera said during an event hosted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington.

The package will be rolled out in January, said Louie Kahn, a spokesperson for Bera.
