Construction is set to resume on a massive Nevada power line project stretching from Las Vegas to Reno that was forced to pause last year over concerns about potential impacts to military airspace.

NV Energy announced this week that it has resolved the concerns raised by the Department of Defense and the Federal Aviation Administration. The company will install more lighting on sections of the high-tower line that could interfere with operations at Nellis Air Force Base.

As such, work on sections on the southern end of the 470-mile-long Greenlink West Transmission Line in southern Nevada will resume “in the coming weeks,” according to an NV Energy spokesperson.

“Residents and travelers in Beatty and Amargosa can expect to see tower construction activities resuming — including helicopter work to assist crews during installation of transmission wire between towers,” the company said on its website.
