It’s the second consecutive day this week that the federal government is shuttered.

Government offices in the nation’s capital stayed closed Tuesday as Washington dug out from a heavy snowstorm.

Federal agencies in the Washington area were shuttered again as employees remained in “maximum telework,” the Office of Personnel Management announced Monday night. That meant staffers who work from the office were given weather and safety leave for their scheduled work hours for the day.

Yet federal employees who telework or are remote are expected to work Tuesday. Emergency employees are also expected to report to their worksites.
