TALLAHASSEE, Florida — Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday unveiled a 2026-27 state budget request that includes more than $300 million for conservation lands programs, $75 million for state parks and $75 million for beach maintenance.

The Republican governor’s request also includes $6 million through the state commerce department to protect military training in the eastern Gulf of Mexico from proposed oil drilling under the Trump administration.

The governor is proposing $50 million for state park facilities maintenance and improvements after the Department of Environmental Protection last month reported a nearly $760 million backlog in repairs needed over the next decade.
