Energy Deputy Secretary David Turk will appear before House lawmakers Wednesday to sell the agency’s budget and policy blueprint, just a day before Republicans release their own spending plan for fiscal 2025.
Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm has made several congressional appearances in recent months to champion the department’s request.
This week the House Science, Space and Technology Committee wants to drill down on issues within the panel’s jurisdiction, with Turk in the witness hot seat.
He will defend the White House’s ask of $10.6 billion for a variety of climate and clean energy research, development, demonstration and deployment programs.
