The Energy Department announced final actions Tuesday setting efficiency standards for four products that align with recommendations made by manufacturers, efficiency and consumer groups.

The actions are directed at dishwashers, air conditioners for commercial buildings, circulator pumps and miscellaneous refrigeration appliances like wine chillers. They indicate the administration’s willingness to work with industry and consumer groups as it makes energy efficiency a part of its climate agenda.

The moves are projected to cut consumers’ and businesses’ utility bills by $1.9 billion annually.
