The Department of Transportation unveiled Thursday an updated request for companies’ proposals for the “integrator” contract associated with the Trump administration’s air traffic control overhaul.
Firms must submit pitches by the afternoon of Sept. 21.
The solicitation, known as a request for solutions, or RFS, is key to Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy’s ambitious plan to build a “brand new” system for controllers in the next three to four years.
“This is the next important step to make our skies safer and air travel more efficient,” Duffy said in a statement.
