The cuts are part of a plan to slash 65 percent of the agency’s spending, said EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin.

EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin offered details Tuesday morning about how he plans to cut at least 65 percent of his agency’s spending.

On the chopping block: employees, rent on agency buildings and an EPA museum that Zeldin said failed to account for the first Trump administration.

In a post on social media Tuesday, Zeldin pledged to “massively reduce” his agency’s spending to “accomplish our core mission and power the great American comeback.”

The Trump EPA “won’t be funding left-wing, ideological pet projects like the past administration,” Zeldin said. He singled out an EPA museum that opened during the Biden administration to celebrate the agency’s history and highlight work on climate change and environmental justice.
