Wyoming native Brian Nesvik on Wednesday seemed to be safely on his way to leading the Fish and Wildlife Service following a conflict-free confirmation hearing.
Sharing a table with two EPA nominees, Nesvik fielded a few polite questions from Democrats and enjoyed lavish praise from Republicans on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.
His time both as a former head of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department and as a retired Army National Guard brigadier general seemed to win lawmakers over, or at least softened potential partisan resistance.
“These experiences and opportunities, starting in the field and working my way up, have prepared me well to work on complex, convoluted problems and to take action in uncertain environments,” Nesvik said.
