TALLAHASSEE, Florida — The state House voted Tuesday to send a wide-ranging state agriculture department bill to the governor despite lingering concerns about the possible sale of some state lands to farmers.

Details: The House voted 94-10 to pass the Senate version of the bill, which also includes a prohibition on local leaf blower bans and a ban on commercial soliciting at homes.

The bill directs the state Department of Environmental Protection to review lands other than state parks, state forests and wildlife management areas that could be sold to farmers under conservation easements.

State Rep. Daniel Antonio “Danny” Alvarez (R-Hillsborough County), the House bill sponsor, said the surplus land provision “is on everyone’s mind,” but assured House members the governor and Cabinet would vote on such moves.
