The offshore wind advocacy group Turn Forward has appointed a Department of Energy alum and labor organizer as its executive director.
Hillary Bright took over the leadership role Monday, following three years as U.S. vice president for renewables for the energy consultancy Xodus.
Bright replaces Turn Forward’s founder, Stephanie McClellan, who was one of President Joe Biden’s former offshore wind advisers and founder of the Special Initiative on Offshore Wind at the University of Delaware.
“Hillary’s extensive public, private and [nongovernmental organization] sector experience in energy policy — in offshore wind specifically — combined with her deep-rooted passion for the environment, makes her the ideal incoming leader for Turn Forward,” McClellan said in a statement.
