Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm called on labor officials Wednesday to tie the growth of U.S. manufacturing and construction jobs in recent years to President Joe Biden’s signature legislative accomplishments.

“We need you to help us connect your members to these jobs and the reason why these jobs are happening,” Granholm said in a speech at the North America’s Building Trades Unions’ legislative conference that drew three standing ovations.

NABTU endorsed Biden’s reelection on Wednesday morning, saying he has “demonstrated his laser-like focus on not only rebuilding our nation’s infrastructure and manufacturing sector but rebuilding the American middle class itself.”

Granholm said that people “sometimes don’t connect” that their jobs came from the bipartisan infrastructure law, Inflation Reduction Act, or the CHIPS and Science Act.
