The Trump administration is terminating nearly $150 million in agriculture and forestry grants determined to be “propaganda” for diversity, equity and inclusion, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said.

In a news release, the Agriculture Department said canceling the more than 145 awards would help rid the government of waste, fraud and abuse while realigning the Agriculture Department’s priorities.

“Putting American Farmers First means cutting the millions of dollars that are being wasted on woke DEI propaganda,” Rollins said. “Under President Trump’s leadership, I am putting an end to the waste, fraud, and abuse that has diverted resources from American farmers and restoring sanity and fiscal stewardship to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.”

Among examples USDA cited are grants to help disadvantaged farmers with conservation practices, for $575,251; and grants to help cities plant trees in neighborhoods historically left out of such programs, often in low-income areas with higher populations of Blacks and other people of color.
