A coalition of environmental groups is urging the moderators of next week’s presidential debate to ask the candidates about their positions on climate change and related issues.

The groups, most of whom have endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, include the League of Conservation Voters, Friends of the Earth Action, the Green New Deal Network and the EDF Action Fund.

“Every day across the country, Americans are experiencing the catastrophic economic, health, and environmental impacts of climate change,” the groups wrote Friday in a public letter to ABC News’ David Muir and Linsey Davis.

They add they are “counting on” the debate moderators to ask Harris and former President Donald Trump how they intend to “address climate change, lower energy costs for the middle class, and take our country forward.”
