The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will vote on legislation this week to help communities address water pollution.

The “Local Water Protection Act,” H.R. 7376, from Reps. Hillary Scholten (D-Mich.) and Brian Mast (R-Fla.) would reauthorize an EPA grant program for nonpoint source water pollution. That’s contamination that doesn’t come from a certain pipe or outflow.

“I’m proud to lead this commonsense, bipartisan legislation to strengthen our pollution prevention and management programs, which will help keep our communities clean and healthy,” Scholten said in a statement.
