The House approved legislation Wednesday that would allow numerous federal rules to be overturned in a single resolution.

H.R. 77, the “Midnight Rules Relief Act,” passed in a 212-208 vote. One Democrat, Henry Cuellar of Texas, crossed the aisle to vote for the GOP-led bill, while one Republican, Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, voted against it.

The measure, from Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), would allow lawmakers to roll back multiple federal regulations in one Congressional Review Act resolution. Currently, CRA resolutions can only address one rule at a time.

The bill would also expand the CRA look-back window during a president’s final year in office from 60 days to a year, leaving all regulations from former President Joe Biden’s final year open to slashing from the Republican-led Congress.
