A House Science, Space and Technology subcommittee will meet this week to discuss the use of weather satellites in national security operations.
The Environment Subcommittee, chaired by Rep. Scott Franklin (R-FLa.), on Tuesday will hear testimony from officials at NOAA and the Defense Department about how the agencies collaborate on weather satellites.
“Weather satellites play a critical role in protecting our national security and ensuring the safety of Americans at home and abroad,” Committee Chair Brian Babin (R-Texas) said in a statement.
“I look forward to a productive discussion on how Congress can strengthen these partnerships and capabilities moving forward,” he added.
