The House is slated to vote this week on Republican bills to address transmission backlogs, ease permitting for cross-border pipelines and make permanent a federal advisory committee on coal.

It will be a big week for the Energy and Commerce Committee. Beyond the bills on floor, the panel is holding hearings on Clean Air Act and efficiency legislation.

The House plans to vote on H.R. 1047,  the “Guaranteeing Reliability through the Interconnection of Dispatchable Power (GRID Power) Act,” from Rep. Troy Balderson (R-Ohio), would allow energy projects deemed most reliable to bypass long interconnection queues.
