As lawmakers return for their final legislative push of the session, the House has teed up votes on a number of natural resource, environment bills and rulemaking bills.

A slate of bipartisan proposals, most from the Natural Resources Committee, will come up under suspension of the rules, a procedure reserved for noncontroversial legislation likely to pass.

S. 3791, the “America’s Conservation Enhancement Reauthorization Act,” would reauthorize the 2020 America’s Conservation Enhancement (ACE) Act. The bill, from Senate Environment and Public Works Chair Tom Carper (D-Del.) and ranking member Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), cleared that chamber earlier this year.

The ACE Act provides funding to conserve wildlife habitats and protect against diseases and invasive species. It funds a variety of major conservation programs, including the North American Wetlands Conservation Fund, the Chesapeake Bay Program and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. The legislation would extend funding and protections through 2030.
