Interior regs unfinished as Trump admin looms

In its limited time left, the Biden administration has a number of key policies it could put in place, from decisions on endangered species protections to finalizing a plan for solar development in the West.

The Biden administration’s postelection to-do list for the Interior Department now looms larger than ever with the coming of a second Trump administration.

Interior’s pending actions include reconsidering Endangered Species Act protections for grizzly bears, managing greater sage grouse habitat and siting major renewable energy projects.

Now it’s go time for those trying to finish the Biden administration’s Interior rule book by next Jan. 20.

“With Trump set to take office in a few short months, the Center is calling on the Biden administration to safeguard as many environmental protections as possible in the coming weeks,” said Kierán Suckling, executive director of the Center for Biological Diversity.
