Jeff Clark has stepped down from his senior post inside the White House regulatory review office.

Clark ended his stint as associate administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) earlier this month, according to his LinkedIn profile. His last day was Wednesday, said a person familiar with his move who was granted anonymity to speak about personnel moves.

Clark played a leading role in the Trump administration’s early push to dramatically scale back energy and environmental regulations. He served as OIRA’s acting leader for most of the administration’s first year, spearheading the president’s stated goal of “unleashing prosperity through deregulation.”
