Early one Wednesday morning in June 2022, Jeff Clark’s home was raided by federal agents.
Clark, a former Justice Department attorney who was under investigation for his role in an alleged plot to overturn the 2020 election results, was wearing a shirt and boxers. He asked the agents, “Can I put pants on first?” in a video aired on CNN.
It was a low point in a turbulent few years for Clark, who was a focal point of investigations over the alleged attempts to overturn the election results. A congressional committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol found that Clark played a central role in a “conspiracy” to obstruct the certification of the 2020 presidential election.
But after years of staying loyal to Trump and contending he was victimized by political opponents, the tables have turned for Clark.
