As record flooding continued through the week in Washington state, lawmakers called for increased investment in emergency management and weather forecasting.

President Donald Trump approved an emergency declaration for the state Monday. Still, the state’s overwhelmingly Democratic congressional delegation has kept pressure on FEMA to invest fully in upcoming recovery efforts.
