A former Interior Department official tasked with leading a massive consolidation effort this year has a new job outside the government, according to his LinkedIn page.
Tyler Hassen, an oil industry veteran who joined Interior as part of the so-called Department of Government Efficiency, left Interior this month, the professional networking site shows.
Hassen’s position at Interior has been unclear for months, and he was initially expected to leave the department over the summer. His LinkedIn profile lists his past titles at Interior as acting assistant secretary for policy, management and budget as well as senior adviser.
An April order signed by Interior Secretary Doug Burgum assigned the assistant secretary position to oversee “the consolidation, unification and optimization efforts” at Interior and its various offices.
