Critical-mineral executives working with the Trump White House will head to Capitol Hill this week to discuss ways to ease Beijing’s control of global supply chains.

The House Select Committee on Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party will hear from officials wth Lithium Americas, MP Materials and Niron Magnetics after unveiling a report last week that accused China of manipulating global mineral prices and tanking business tied to the U.S. and its allies.

“This bipartisan investigation shows that the [Chinese Communist Party] simply does not play by the rules on critical minerals,” said Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi of Illinois, the panel’s ranking Democrat.

It’s an assertion that China denies. “There is nothing credible about the committee you mentioned which keeps attacking and smearing China for its political agenda,” said Liu Pengyu, a spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in Washington, in an email when asked about the committee’s bipartisan report.
