President Donald Trump’s nominee to run the Department of Homeland Security vowed Wednesday to end a contentious policy established in June requiring the secretary to approve all payments of more than $100,000.

Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) said during his confirmation hearing that he would “absolutely” abolish the policy established by outgoing Secretary Kristi Noem.

“That’s called micromanaging, and I don’t know if the secretary put that in or someone else did. I’m not a micromanager,” Mullin said when Sen. Andy Kim (D-N.J.) asked about Noem’s policy.
